History About Moti Dungri Ganesh Ji Temple
Moti Dungri Ganesh Mandir was built by Seth Jai Ram Paliwal in 1761 AD. King Sawai Madho Singh I of Jaipur was a great devotee of Lord Ganesha. Once, when he went for a trip to Mawali in Mewar with his wife’s family, he thought of building a Ganesh temple in Jaipur. The king of Mewar then arranged for the Ganesh idol to be taken to Jaipur in a bullock cart. An interesting story says that the cart hit an obstruction at the foot of Moti Dungri Hill and did not move. As a result, thinking that it was God’s plan, it was decided to set up the temple there.
